Turn workforce records into a repeatable month-end report without rebuilding the analysis every month.
See what a new hire, a later start or a change in hours means for your staffing budget.
Build confidence with realistic HR questions, deliberately messy data and worked explanations.
A CONSIDERED APPROACH
The aim is simple: help you understand the numbers, explain the calculation and repeat the process next month.
Explore the reporting packDefined input tables and written guidance, with the assumptions made visible.
Meaningful measures, clear definitions and a view designed to answer a real question.
A consistent structure you can return to, without rebuilding your report each month.
A LITTLE CLARITY, ON THE HOUSE
Three numbers. One clear calculation.
Try it with your own totals, or use the example.
YOUR RESULT
Monthly employee turnover
8 departures ÷ 132 average headcount × 100
This is the rate for the selected period, not an annualised estimate. There is no universal “good” turnover rate.
Turnover = leavers during the period ÷ average headcount × 100. Here, average headcount is estimated as (opening headcount + closing headcount) ÷ 2.
Use the same dates, workforce and departure definition for every input. Headcount counts people, not FTE. Monthly and quarterly rates are not automatically annualised. A rate above 100% can occur when positions turn over repeatedly.
If staffing varies substantially during the period, a consistent average of more frequent snapshots may be more representative. Compare rates calculated with the same method. Changes in workforce scope or internal transfers may also affect interpretation.
Calculated in your browser. No employee records, email address or sign-up needed.

No. The packs are being designed for independent use with written instructions and worked examples. Any support offered at release will be text-based; you will not need a call or video session to get started.
This website does not accept employee records. The calculator uses aggregate totals and processes them in your browser. The planned Excel products work with your files in your own environment; demos will use clearly labelled synthetic data.
Intended uses differ by product. Consultant and trainer licence options, including any permissions for client or learner reuse, will be stated before purchase. The £29 Practice Lab price shown is a proposed individual-use price.
The pack includes a setup guide, definitions and a worked example. If you have a problem with the supplied files, support is available in writing. Custom dashboards, data cleaning, integrations and calls are not included.
